The Japan based electronics
giant Sony which has been tried it's hands on releasing high-end smartphones ,
has recently released it's brand new
mid-range smartphone named as Xperia L2 priced
at $310, it has been reported to compete with the likely mid-range Smartphone’s
which are Nokia 6, Samsung Galaxy J7 and Huawei P Smart.
With Xperia L2 Smartphone,
you can expect not an exceptional experience of capturing moments but a fair
and decent photography as it features a
primary camera with 13 MP and a secondary camera with 8 MP which is an 120
degree super wide angle selfie cam. It is expected to be an unique
configuration for taking good selfies .The main camera has come with the
support of High Dynamic Range , Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and capable
of Full HD Video recording @ 60 FPS. But still it lacks the Exmor RS Camera
Sensor which was found in other high-end Sony Smartphone’s. Xperia L2 beside
give a decent enough photographic experience, the photos lack detailing.
For an enhanced performance
without any lag or hassles, Sony has built Xperia L2 Smartphone with 1.5 GHz
quad-core Mediatek MT6737T processor (not a great processor for this price
range) and this is where the other competing devices overtake Xperia L2. Xperia L2 runs over Android Nougat 7.1.1 (no
information about Oreo update) and Sony has added its own Xperia for an
improved user experience. Comes with a
few of the pre-installed Google apps. Xperia L2 Smartphone uses Google's phone app
that has necessary basic features for making and receiving calls.
Crafted with all-plastic
body, Xperia L2 Smartphone gives a hefty feel in hands , flat top and sharp
right-angled corners and the chunky bezels makes the phone appear like not-so-appealingly
designed phone. The 13.97cm HD screen comes with a mini display which has only
a HD 720p panel whereas most of the Smartphone’s are likely to have 1080p HD
panel. The extended width and the bit
heavy weight about 178g of the phone makes it difficult for users to use it in
one-handed mode. Available in black, pink and gold colors.
Interesting to know that
Xperia L2 Smartphone accommodates a fingerprint scanner which was absent in L1.
The fingerprint scanner for extra security purposes has been conveniently
located in the rear side placed below the camera.
To enable multitasking and
to have the utility of more number of apps, Xperia L2 has been equipped with
3GB of RAM and 32 GB internal memory
space which can be further expanded up to 256 GB via Micro SD card slot.
Despite being a mid-range device,
Xperia L2 Smartphone comes with a
battery of 3300 mAh capacity and it's non removable which is a common
phenomenon with all the Sony Smartphone’s that adds to the heaviness of the
phone. The device's power lasts 36 hours between charges .The presence of Qnovo
adaptive charging technology and a stamina energy saving mode is a saviour for
Xperia L2 which will be found in Sony's high-end Smartphone’s. The dual SIM
phone is compatible with connectivity of LTE, GSM, and UMTS. Bluetooth 6.2 and
NFC.
Sony Xperia L2 Smartphone scores
high in the areas of large and powerful battery, high storage capacity and good
working condition. But still there are major drawbacks of Sony Xperia L2 Smartphone
includes the rigid outlook and being not water and dust resistant. Also the
addition of fingerprint scanner adds no big value as it is reported to fail
working at times and lead to frustration.
