Google Pixel 2 XL Smartphone Review

Google Pixel 2 XL Smartphone

When one looks for a Smartphone that is ideally made for amazing photography, rendering absolute ease of use and a guarantee of regular software updates, Google 's Pixel  2XL is highly recommendable  which has been released during the month of October 2017 in US, UK, Australia, Germany and India.
Priced around $1085, Google Pixel 2XL regarded to be the costliest phone among Pixel series which seems to share the similar features as in Pixel 2. But the unique design, size and a few other interesting add-ons makes Pixel 2XL highly distinct.

As the name embraces the term XL, the phone has a bit bigger 6 inch screen replacing the 5 inch screen in Pixel 2. The stellar design being mixed with metal and glass gives Pixel 2 XL a stunning look. The front face has been covered and guarded by Gorilla Glass 5 surrounded by a three dimensional curve making it comfy for the users to hold it. The IP67 water resistance technology covers it from harms like spills and splashes. The stylish slim bezels unlike the one in Pixel 2 have taken Pixel 2XL into the list of trendy-looking smart phones of 2017. Thee always-on display has a razor sharp pixel density and also allows you to look into the phone for basic info without even touching it.

While all other competing Smartphone brands are trying to stand apart with the new dual lens camera feature, Google pixel series wins the race in a simpler but brilliant way by having a strong foundation with the pixel devices. With the 12.2 MP rear camera and the 8 MP selfie camera, Pixel 2 XL just like Pixel 2 brings out spectacular photos and videos with well improved quality. The Google lens technology makes the camera to outsmart all other features of the mobile. Even in the darkest of lighting conditions, you will be able to get brighter pictures with finer detailing. Here too the portrait mode works wonder with both front and rear camera .

The technically advanced Android Oreo software helps Pixel 2XL perform perfectly and better at managing the background use of apps that may prevent the 3,520 mAh battery from draining and gain more efficiency. The battery when compared to other competing devices at this price range is said to be smaller but it depends upon the usage. It is reported that it can drain only 7% of charge even when it is left unused with the always -on display.

The must to be mentioned fact is that Google Pixel 2XL is the first Smartphone to launch built-in e-Sim technology. That means, the Sim card is not necessary as you can download the required credentials to the phone and can proceed with the phone. Similar to Pixel 2, this phone does have the Squeeze feature as in HTC U11 for launching Google Assistant. To enhance multitasking and no-lag performance, Snapdragon 835 chipset and 4GB of RAM have been perfectly combined. The Pixel launcher adds more elegance and intelligence to the device as it has fixed the Google Search bar to the bottom of the screen along with a calendar, information’s like time and date placed at the top.

Google has made it easier for the device to cope up with the required upcoming updates as Pixel 2XL is the first device to support Project Treble. This support may enhance Pixel 2XL to upgrade to Android P, Android Q and even to the Android R in future.

If you are an entertainment freak, Pixel 2XL has more within as it is equipped with superior dual front speakers, improved internal storage up to 64 GB, the perfect bigger pOLED display and other high speed components. Despite not having headphone jack, Pixel 2XL features an USB - C to 3.5 mm adapter, Android Oreo's first rated wireless audio codec’s and Bluetooth 5.0 to render amazing entertainment. On the whole, Pixel 2XL is a right choice for bigbies who want to go big just for the slim and stylish look and for the extraordinary camera performance
